Olfactory- Of, relating to, or contributing to the sense of smell.
Moment- A specific point in time, especially the present time. OR. A particular period of importance, influence, or significance in a series of events or developments.
How significant are the moments in your life? Do you take the time to live in your moments? Do you just go about aimlessly, taking your senses for granted?
A couple of weeks ago, I started the Olfactory Moment on our Fan Page. It sort of got lost in the wall posts. So, I've decided to bring it here.
What is the Olfactory Moment? The Olfactory Moment is when you tell the readers what aroma or odor you smelled over the weekend. What memory did it recreate? Was it a scent that you may never forget, thus creating future memories of that past moment?
For example: When I smell rain, I say that it smells like worms. When at 4 years of age, I attended a Montessori school. After the rainfall, we would go outside to splash in puddles and observed the worms that surfaced. I would touch the worms with the shovel and watch them curl up. That was a fun childhood (olfactory) moment for me.
Did you have an Olfactory Moment this weekend?

Ooh, I like this idea! I have a great one to add. On Saturday, we went to the Farmer's Market and I found an Indian bath soap made from vegetable and neem extracts. The smell of the soap took me right back to my childhood in Jamaica when my grandmother would use blue cake soap to wash our clothes. I almost inhaled the soap as I sniffed, re-sniffed, and sniffed again before placing it into our cart. I've bathed with it at least 4 times since Saturday evening, and boy, I can't wait until my Jamaica trip later this year!!
