Creating New Product

Over the weekend (3rd post opening with that line), I was introduced to a sultry, feminine scent. It has been a few years since creating a new signature collection for women. This is it, this scent is the base for what is to come. So along with other products that I have been researching and sitting on, I will be blending up something for the winter for the ladies.

Random Confession

I don't really like when customers type proper nouns in lower case letters. I find myself making corrections when typing up shipping labels.

Philanthropic Spirit

Winter 1980, age 6. Walking hand-in-hand with my mother, expeditiously down the streets of Philadelphia. There she was outside of Wendy's on the corner of Broad St. and Columbia Ave. (now Cecil B. Moore). Bundled up in dirty blankets and mismatched clothes. Surrounded by duffle bags and shopping carts. Begging for food to eat. Mommy, what is wrong with that lady, why is she out in the cold asking for food, why does she look so sad? She is homeless. Homeless? Homeless....

Now at 35 years of age, I still think of that woman. Did she die? Did life turn around for her? Did someone with the will, heart, understanding, and/or money come to her rescue?

It was in that moment that I decided that I would become a Philanthropist. Not knowing what that word meant at the time, but my heart knew that helping people who truly needed it, is what I would strive for. I am thankful to be in the position of a business owner to give back. Am I giving like a billionaire? LOL. Not quite, but the more I have the opportunity to give, the more I realize that it is the will and wisdom, not the money. Because with will and wisdom you will know exactly who to give to and how to make their life better.

At present one of my Season Pass shows is The Philanthropist. Ok, not the best written tv show, but I like the subject matter. A Billionaire coming to the aid of everyday citizens. Everyday citizens. Grass root organizations. Right now the Teen LUVE Program and Sisterhood Agenda are two grass root organizations that I donate to. What I donate on my own isn't a large amount. So, I created the Stay Sweet Collection. Empowering girls is another passion of mine. So by selling fun, healthy products with positive affirmations for girls, I can donate money to help other girls.

Not sure as to where my path will continue to go, but I am moving forward with philanthropy, humanity, and empowerment in sight.
